CANDID, IN THE MOMENT

WHERE SPONTANEOUS MEETS ANTICIPATION

A photo album is never just filled with perfect photos. It's filled with photos that pull you right back in; people laughing, blurry shots of a hilarious moment, stoic moments secretly shot from behind a curtain. With all the technological advances, it's normal (and totally ok) to want your photos to feel a little more imperfect, in the moment, nostalgic even.

Spontaneous, candid photos are an art. They're intentionally calculated, patiently-awaited, anticipated moments. The photos of a fun incident aren't just luck. A trained eye knows that a conversation with a group crowded around will almost always end up with abrupt laughter, and when. A toast usually wets a dry eye. And a patient photographer is always ready.

Your wedding isn't a performance. It's not a photo session. It's you, your spouse, family, friends, and a lot of your parents' friends all having a great time celebrating you new union. Let your day progress without the constant nag of a camera pulling you out of each second. Trust your photographer to capture the things you didn't get to see or experience, and know they'll capture it just the way it happened.

Spontaneous moments anticipated, captured, and delivered to you that take you right back into the action of your wedding day each time you revisit them.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

WORKING WITH SIMONE

Simone prioritizes a client-first approach to wedding photography. She has fine-tuned posing that looks and feels natural to each client, and listens, adapts, and is highly intentional in every situation. Simone's approach is not one-size-fits-all. Each client requires different guidance, attention, and support. Having shot almost 100 weddings over the past 5 years, Simone has worked with clients from various walks of life.

Simone shoots with a mix of editorial, documentary, and candid approaches and her edits are true to color. She has captured traditional, non-traditional, and multi-cultural weddings in the Metro Detroit, Michigan area, all over the United States, and abroad. Simone is also ordained and can be your officiant if you're eloping!

Most of Simone's clients have never been professionally photographed before aside from an engagement shoot with her. She promises she'll tell you what to do with your hands, how to position yourself in a flattering way, and is known for keeping things fun and easy.

You can expect Simone to bring the exact energy required for a moment. A calm and reassuring presence, an upbeat and fun one, disappearing onto the wall, or commanding a room full of family.

Simone works well with almost anyone, but works best with people who share her passion for eating limes with salt (seriously, if you also eat limes with salt, we should talk).

READY WHEN YOU ARE

I will do almost anything to get the shot. That's all you need to know.

HOW TO BOOK SIMONE

THE PROCESS

Step 1

Peruse my work. Laugh at my jokes scattered throughout my site. Decide if you like my work or love it. Decide if you like me or love me (love me, damnit!).

Step 3

I'll respond back - we can text or get on a call to get to know each other. You'll pay the dog/cat/ferret tax, I'll pay mine. We'll see if we like each other (I'm sure your mom says you're great). I'll ask you my magical question that has made people cry before (in a good way, I promise!), and then you'll say the words, "we want to book you!" and I'll do a happy dance, throw up a little, and then respond back to you with next steps.

Step 2

Slap that Inquire button and send me all your juicy details. Who's your planner, what's your vibe, are we breaking it down on the dance floor or nah?

Step 4

You'll sign a contract, pay a 20% retainer (my 8 hour Detroit wedding packages start at $4800), then you're booked! We'll text inspo back and forth, get on a call a few months out from your wedding to curate a timeline, and then dance the night away with each other on your wedding day!

"OMG I didn't even know she captured that!"

It was wonderful reviewing the photos and seeing so many, "omg I didn't even know she captured that!" moments. With having such a small wedding in an intimate place like J Bar M Ranch, we wanted to work with someone we know and trusted and could kind of relinquish power to. It was nice having one less thing to worry about and have you coach us up/give instructions! You are absolutely amazing at what you do. Your knowledge of locations, timing, angles, lighting, etc is incredible and helped us capture photos of our wedding we didn't even know were possible and had never seen in wedding shoots before. In addition, you're so open to working with how we wanted to be worked with. You roll with things and provided subtle guidance and instructions letting us lead the way.
