Remote Year

Heading 1

Everyone wants to travel these days, but there's these things called jobs that seem to get in the way. I wanted to travel AND keep my job. I was one of the "crazy ones," as they call us. And I thought I was crazy, too. Then I found Remote Year.  If you're curious to know how you can travel the world AND keep your job, keep reading!

Remote Year is designed for digital nomads, or people with the potential to be digital nomads. With an Employment team*, Remote Year gives you the tools to help convince your current boss to let you work remotely.

Here are a few of the most common questions I get:

  • What is Remote Year? Remote Year is a work/travel program that takes you around the world! 12 months, 12 different cities.

  • How does it work? The nitty gritty is here, but basically, I pay Remote Year every month. This covers my lodging, transportation to the next city, coworking space, wifi, and any events they put on (called Track Events).

  • Can't I just do that on my own for cheaper? Sure! You absolutely could. But you'll also have to plan out logistics, lodging, and if you have an employer, convincing them to let you go ... travel.

  • How many people do you go with? Right now, we have 32 people in our cohort, with 1 program leader. The age range is 22-56. I'll have my own private room, but I might share an apartment or house with a few other people.

  • What are you going to be doing the whole time? I'm taking my Client Success Manager position at a software company on the road with me! While I'll have to work US hours, I'll still have time to explore while everyone in the US is sleeping.

  • Does she even go here? Honestly Becky, I have no idea.

*Note: Remote Year does NOT provide you with a job. They give you ideas, tools, and tips that can help you have the remote discussion with your current employer.
