Travel Tips

Heading 3

Experience Makes Us Smart, Exploration Makes Us Wise

Whether you're a first-time traveler, you've been to every continent, or you don't even like traveling, there's always something to learn! Take a few tips, leave a few tips. It's possible to be safe and have fun!

My favorite tips from over the years might seem simple, but they've often saved me in a pinch!

You're never alone, even if you are. You're always meeting up with someone; someone is waiting for you back at your hostel; your mom is coming in tomorrow; always make people think someone is waiting on you, even if they're not! Plus, there's a huge community of travelers who have your back; we're pretty cool.

Keep emergency cash/copies/phone numbers separate, and hidden from your your everyday items. You never know when you're going to need your home bank's phone number.

Download offline apps and maps before you leave for your trip, or before you leave Wi-Fi! Always have walking map apps, (like Maps.Me, my favorite offline app, download here: https://maps.me/download/), podcasts, historical information, transportation information, and key areas to hit/avoid.

Create a Google Map layer before your trip and save all the locations you want to go! Once you're on your trip, save all the great places you stop at so you can go back later and remember the names/cities. Google Maps also lets you label places in case you had the best mimosas of your life so you'll never forget, and now you can share where it was with your friend who's visiting next month!
